Photographer’s Eye on Eros

The Story of Eros: An exploration into the issues surrounding eroticism in art on 26 February 09 at Chapel Arts in Bath.

Bath, United Kingdom, February 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Portrait photographer Wolf Kettler will be a panellist on “The Story of Eros”, a panel-led discussion event, on Thursday, 26 February, at Chapel Arts in Bath.

When does an erotic celebration of sexuality become exploitative or degrading? Who is being exploited? How have attitudes to the portrayal of sexuality changed over time and in different cultures? These are the questions, which will be explored within a mix of entertainment and panel-led discussion.

On the panel, Dr. Sue Tate, feminist art historian and senior lecturer with UWE, the internationally exhibited and published photographer Wolf Kettler and Militsa Stojanovic, a.k.a. Burlesque performer Mitzy Bear, a former professional dancer.

Challenging conventional thinking, his photographs free the individual from the artificial restraints of looks and age. Entertainment at the event will come from Burlesque performers Kitty Kane and Lilly Belle. Providing music will be The Blood Choir.

The Story of Eros is hosted by Café of Ideas (cafeofideas.com) on Thursday, 26 February, at 6:30 p.m. at Chapel Arts (formerly known as Invention Studios), Lower Borough Walls, Bath.
