The AP Program, sponsored by the College Board, is a cooperative educational endeavor between high schools and colleges and universities. It exposes students to college level material through involvement in an AP course and it gives them the opportunity to demonstrate that they have mastered it by taking an AP exam. Most of the nation’s colleges and universities award credit and/or advanced placement based on successful performances on the AP Exams.

Devon Prep, a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to 12 is conducted by the Piarist Fathers. The school is located on a 20 acre campus on Philadelphia’s Main Line.

With an enrollment of nearly 300 students Devon Prep is one of the smallest private schools in the area yet it boasts one of the best academic reputations, which is demonstrated by the school’s successful Advanced Placement (AP) Program. The AP Program begins in the sophomore year and offers more than 17 courses in numerous subjects including history, biology, physics, English, geography and political science.
