Kidzmusic’s Featured Artist of the Week is Joanie Bartels
Internationally acclaimed children's entertainer, Joanie Bartels is this week's featured artist for Kidzmusic.com. Although currently living in New Zealand, Joanie's CDs are still very much in demand in the US and her concerts are invariably sold out.
Los Angeles, CA, February 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Internationally acclaimed children's entertainer Joanie Bartels' popularity reflects a personal commitment she believes in strongly: sharing musical "magic" with children and adults of all ages! Joanie Bartels was the first female children's artist to receive RIAA Gold Record Certification, and her multi-award winning Magic Series on audio and video (Sony-BMG Entertainment) has reached triple platinum sales. Joanie was named Favorite Female Vocalist in a survey of new parents by Child magazine and The American Association of Children's Entertainment and has been described as "The Queen of Children's Music".
Bartels began her career as a recording artist for young audiences in 1985 with the release of Lullaby Magic. Soon, she and her collection of theme-oriented audio and video recordings became synonymous with the special times parents and children share enjoying music together. Joanie has continued the tradition of recording award-winning, quality music for children and their families on her own "indie" label, Purple Frog Records, with the release of Put On Your Dancing Shoes and Dreamland which have won awards from Parents' Choice, NAPPA and The Children's Music Web.
In addition to establishing Purple Frog Records and the release of two new CDs, Joanie has also acquired ownership rights of her 1996 release Adventures With Family and Friends and has been recording a collection of standard and contemporary, kid-friendly jazz tunes called JAZZY that is now available for downloading on iTunes! Joanie also appears on a fund- raising compilation CD "All The Wild Wonders” to benefit the Children With Diabetes Foundation as well as the "Chicken Soup for Little Souls" series.
This multitalented artist has captured the hearts of children and adults alike through her recordings and the sing-along/dance-along concerts she performs internationally. Says Parenting magazine, "Bartels' songs have planted her at the pinnacle of the children's music charts" and concert promoters continue to rave about her upbeat, interactive performances.
Although Joanie has now made her home in New Zealand, she will continue to tour in the USA and around the world and to support charities that benefit the health and welfare of children and their families. Says Joanie: "Music is magical. It brings joy and healing to all ages".
