Balfour Beatty Construction's Al Petrangeli Receives Community Service Award

Plantation, FL, February 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- During a time when so many communities are affected by foreclosures, layoffs, and a weakened economy, reaching out to help communities in need is more important than ever. Therefore, Balfour Beatty Construction is proud to announce Al Petrangeli, Division President in Florida, and his wife, Toni, are the recent recipients of the 2009 “Community Service Award” from The George Snow Scholarship Fund in Palm Beach County, Florida.

The award, started in 1994, recognizes those who have had a strong and lasting impact on their surrounding community, and the Petrangelis were recognized for their ongoing commitment toward improving the quality of life in the Palm Beach and Broward Counties in Florida.

Al Petrangeli’s efforts include his involvement in several community organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Christian Community Foundation of South Florida and Enterprise Florida (the State’s Economic Development Organization); sits on the Executive Committees for Enterprise Florida and the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce; and serves as Chairman of the Boards of 4Kids of South Florida, The George Snow Scholarship Fund, and The Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he co-founded Lifework Leadership, which endeavors to transform business leaders and the communities in which they work.

Al’s wife, Toni, serves on the Board of Directors for the Christian Community Foundation of South Florida with Al, volunteers at their two younger children’s schools and is a valuable member of the George Snow Scholarship Fund’s Selection Committee.

As emphasized by Tim Snow, President of the George Snow Scholarship Fund, “Al and Toni do so much, and they do it for all the right reasons! We can’t do what we do without people like them, and we’re blessed to have them as part of our family.”

The George Snow Scholarship Fund provides educational grants to young students throughout Florida’s Palm Beach and Broward Counties to help bridge the gap between other financial aid and what the scholar and their families can afford.
