Cameron Rogers Has Added Executive Coaching to His Coaching Business
Executive coaching has been a natural progression for ActionCOACH from Western Australia.
Burswood, Australia, February 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For ActionCOACH Cameron Rogers; executive coaching was a natural progression and will be an addition to his already highly successful business coaching practice.
His decision to enter this arena was threefold.
“Firstly, I am passionate about executive coaching, and secondly, in the current times when we are experiencing massive change, there is a pressing need to help professionals get real traction in their jobs,” he said. “Thirdly, I have built a solid foundation of basic skills in my seven years of coaching small business owners.”
Rogers is not new to executive coaching and recalls one of his recent experiences.
“I coached an executive who recently moved to a new role. The feedback I received was so good that I am presently in negotiations with the company to provide coaching to this executive in his new role,” he said. “This is testimony to the need felt for executive coaching in the business world.”
From his own experience in the corporate world, Rogers believes that his growth and performance would have been on a higher trajectory if he had had a coach to guide him.
“For a lot of managers their appointments have been primarily based on their performance in a technical role - for instance, the best salesman becomes sales manager,” he said. “However, the role of an executive and leader requires a completely new skills set.”
Rogers also points out how being on top sometimes tends to get lonely and in such a scenario - having a coach who one can confidentially talk to and receive unbiased feedback from, becomes critical.
“The executive world is a flurry of activity and it is easy to lose track of your goals as a result of the pace, politics and pressures associated with the job,” he said. “Having someone guide you can help keep you focused and on-track.”
The experience Rogers gained from coaching business owners for over seven years will be critical in his new role as an Executive Coach.
“Having experience as an accountant for example will only take you further to a limited extent,” he said. “Having experience dealing with people and their issues is really the basis of what executive coaching for performance is all about.”
Rogers believes there are massive opportunities in executive coaching and although there is much competition, no one has made a mark in this arena yet.
“In a region based on resources and with the current economic situation, the need for coaching is stronger than ever,” he said. “From my research, having a mentor in the corporate world is now becoming quite the buzz - we have the opportunity to fill this gap.”
Rogers is excited to be able to offer accredited executive coaching, something which he has been involved in for many years informally.
