Asiana Travel Mate "Cleans Up the Zoo"
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, February 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On 14 February, Asiana Travel Mate (ATM), one of local leading Tour Operators, together with thousands of couples in Vietnam celebrated Valentine’s Day, yet, in its very own way. The company wanted to show its responsibility to society and environment by organising environmental awareness raising activity “Clean up the environment” which took place in the Zoo of Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Thao Cam Vien).
According to Miss Oanh, the Head of Flower and Garden Department, ATM is the first ever company to voluntarily approach the zoo to offer cleaning service and she appreciates the company’s advocacy to Responsible Travel.
Employees of ATM were encouraged to sign up for the program which involved picking up trash on the ground, reminding visitors to keep the environment clean and not to tease the animals. Friends and expats within various networks were also invited to join.
From early morning to late at noon, more than 30 Asiana Travel Mate staff and Managers worked whole-heartedly to keep the zoo clean. Stagnant rubbish could be found easily inside the bushes where people pay less attention. Moreover, a majority of visitors still feel very free to drop their trash on the ground.
Although muscles sore from the unfamiliar tough job, everyone was full of smiles. Indeed doing good deed makes you happy. With this activity, ATM hopes to contribute its little yet meaningful effort to raise the spirit of protecting our environment. If you have any idea of environment conservation and reservation, please do not hesitate to share it with ATM, they will make it become true.
ATM encourages and welcomes everyone to join their monthly community activities. Next month’s stop will be at Phat Huy Orphanage House in Binh Trieu, Thu Duc where ATM’s tourists will cook Vietnamese traditional foods for more than 130 kids. You can buy vouchers to support the event and if you love cooking, feel free to join them.
