Sonitrol Pacific Verified Audio Detection Prevents Burglary
Everett, WA, February 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- An attempted burglary at Truck Center LLC in Everett ended in the arrest of one suspect after Sonitrol Pacific detected suspicious activity February 18.
Banging noises activated the shop’s audio intrusion detection system. Sonitrol Pacific Operator Connie Becerra listened to real-time audio and heard sounds of possible glass breaking, followed by footsteps and more banging noises. She immediately called Everett Police.
Police responded in force to Becerra’s call on a verified alarm. The suspect attempted to flee, but police dogs gave chase and he was arrested across the street from Truck Center. Officers suspect the man got inside the building by cutting a hole in the fiberglass.
According to police, the suspect staged an array of the Truck Center’s employees’ tools on the ground preparing to haul them away. However, due to unique audio detection, and the fast response by Becerra and Everett Police, the tools stayed where they belonged.
