Eco-Friendly Hospital to Create New Jobs Coming Soon

Phoenix, AZ, February 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Kenneth Pettit recently presented his plans to develop an eco-friendly hospital and medical campus to the Ahwatukee Foothills Village Planning Committee. The new facility, to be located between 50th Street and Chandler Boulevard, has been named the Paradigm Foothills Hospital. The development would include a 110-bed, physician-owned, full-service acute care hospital including an emergency room.

The medical campus will benefit the entire community, bringing a new level of medical service along with new jobs to the area. The project will employ upwards of 345-400 people with the potential for 600 or more including physicians and their office staffs eventually locating onto the new hospital’s 35-acre campus.

The project is committed to creating an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly hospital and medical campus. In addition, the project would also incorporate a new concept that combines innovative and state of the art medical technologies with a full spectrum of preventative services. The campus will serve as a health and wellness destination for the community.

“My goal is to create a medical campus that will be centered around the community, where people feel comfortable coming to not only when they are sick but when they are healthy,” says Dr. Pettit. “Our plan is to have the community hospital built within two to three years,” said Dr. Pettit. “This is a project whose time has come for Ahwatukee.”

The number of doctor-owned hospitals has tripled to nearly 200 since 1990 as related in documents provided by the Physician Hospitals of America (PHA). PHA relates there are about 85 similar projects currently under development across the country. According to federal studies, physician-owned hospitals tend to be more efficient, saving expenses for both patients and insurance programs, including Medicare. The government’s own studies related better outcomes without higher costs.

Dr. Kenneth Pettit has a Family Practice in Ahwatukee Foothills and in the city of Maricope. Dr. Pettit is President and CEO of Paradigm Hospital Group and a board-certified in Family Practice medicine. He holds a degree in Osteopathic medicine from Western University College of Health Sciences, Pomona, California and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association.
