Peter Gleeson, Executive Director tells us: “When Mind Gliding started 5 years ago we had a collection of ideas, some second hand computers and no spare money. Through pure regularity and consistency of effort, we managed to develop and establish a decent income earning business. To date we have provided management development services to over 50 clients in 7 different countries, have money in the bank, and yes, some new IT equipment”.

Quality and authenticity that relates to an identified market

Dr Eddy Kloprogge, Director of Mind Gliding adds: “Starting out we followed advice given by various business development consultants. As a start up business this proved to be very useful, however it never really felt ‘right’. Feeling like a fish out of water, we took a few steps back to take an objective look at who we are, how we got here and what we have to offer. In that process we found many valuable things, not least of which was the rich experience we had collected in life. By looking at what we knew to be important, we rediscovered our core values; these then became the foundation of our work. We re-discovered our personal and commercial authenticity. This provided the basis of out growth”.

Geographical area

Peter Gleeson: “Although based in East Kent, we started to recognise that our target market was not to be found in Thanet. Looking further afield involved a good deal of travelling; many miles later we encountered people and organisations who were interested in learning more about us and our business. Diversity of approach took us to the Channel Islands, Italy, Holland, Kenya and South Africa”.

Honesty and Wisdom

“By being honest with ourselves, not over-reaching financially, and using the skills, talents and abilities we had we started to create material and programmes that clients wanted to buy”, says Eddy Kloprogge.

He further comments: ”At the heart of our work are the 5 Elements of Relationship, written by Professor Petruska Clarkson. Using this exclusive material we realised the importance of relationships, between us within the business, with our clients and the other organisations we needed to inter-act with in order to do business. In other words we learned not just to ‘talk the talk’ but also to ‘walk the walk’. Our financial security demonstrates just how effective this approach has been”.
