Merdeka Coffee Announces Expansion Plans for 2009
Bucking general negative sentiments in the retail sector, Merdeka Coffee has announced plans to open 4 new branches this year.
Jakarta, Indonesia, February 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Merdeka Coffee, one of Indonesia's leading specialty coffee roasters, today announced plans to open 4 further stores this year. Two branches are confirmed for Jakarta, while the other stores will be a mini roasting outlet in Auckland, New Zealand and a representative office and cafe in Singapore.
"We recognise that despite the general economic uncertainty, there are huge opportunities still out there to expand our brand", said Arlini Syah, President Director. "We have targeted expat areas of Jakarta for further expansion including a second store in Kemang."
Ms Syah also announced the appointment of Alun Evans to the role of International Brand Development Manager. Mr ZEvans who had been responsible for brand development and roasting in Indonesia will be based in NZ and Singapore for the bulk of 2009.
