Savannah’s Memorial Health Foundation and The One Hundred Leaders Begin Their Terms
The Memorial Health Foundation board of directors has confirmed Linda Zoller, Zelda Tenenbaum, Richard (Toby) Moreau, and Nancy Sheets incoming president of The One Hundred, as new board members. The Memorial Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization.
Savannah, GA, February 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Memorial Health Foundation board of directors has confirmed Linda Zoller, Zelda Tenenbaum, Richard (Toby) Moreau, and Nancy Sheets incoming president of The One Hundred, as new board members. The Memorial Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization authorized to receive financial gifts for Memorial University Medical Center and its affiliates.
The One Hundred is a group dedicated to raising funds for the George and Marie Backus Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. The organization’s president is a member of the Memorial Health Foundation board.
“The Memorial Health Foundation board is very excited to welcome these distinguished new members and we are looking forward to working with them to help achieve the foundation’s goals this year,” said James T. Turner, Jr., Memorial Health Foundation board chairman.
Linda Zoller, a social worker by training, was instrumental in starting Savannah’s Ronald McDonald House and served as its president. She has held leadership positions in a number of child advocacy posts, including Youth Futures and Children of Change. Zoller serves on the Armstrong Atlantic University Foundation board and will soon assume a top leadership position in the Savannah Jewish Federation. She and her husband, Michael Zoller, M.D., are also active in the United Way of the Coastal Empire.
Zelda Tenenbaum founded Tenenbaum Consulting in 1990 and has spent more than 20 years coaching executives and developing leaders in various businesses. She is active in many community organizations, including the board of the Ossabaw Island Foundation, the Savannah Film Commission, and the Savannah City Council.
Toby Moreau is the president of Branch Banking & Trust Company (BB&T) Savannah Region. He has more than two decades of banking experience and has been actively involved in the community. He has served on the board of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, the cabinet of the United Way of the Coastal Empire, and was chairman of the Banking Task Force of the Step Up Savannah Committee. Moreau has also worked closely with the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Nancy Sheets is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of healthcare experience. She is as a member of the Community Health Mission board of directors, and is a community representative on Memorial’s Institutional Review Board for cancer clinical trials. Sheets has also served on the boards of the American Heart Association, the Southeastern Georgia Alzheimer’s Association, and the Humane Society, Chatham/Savannah.
The Memorial Health Foundation board of directors helps ensure that Memorial has the resources necessary to provide world-class healthcare programs for the community. To achieve its mission, the Foundation works to build relationships with business and individuals throughout the region.
In addition to the incoming members, the Foundation board includes Phyllis Albertson, Holmes Bell, Steven Brower, M.D., Gayle Burkhardt, Christopher Cay, William J. Degenhart, M.D., T. The One Hundred is a not-for-profit organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to supporting Backus Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Since its founding in 1994, The One Hundred has raised nearly $2 million for medical equipment, educational programs, and healthcare services for children.
Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) is a two-state healthcare organization serving a 35-county area in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. The system includes its flagship hospital, a 530-bed academic medical center; primary and specialty care physician networks; a major medical education program; business and industry services; and NurseOne, a 24-hour call center.
