BikeWear World L.L.C. witnessed Lance Armstrong in a comeback everyone in the industry has been waiting for…
San Diego, CA, February 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- uRide.tv was apart of the 2009 Amgen Tour of California. According to the CEO, Sami Tauber of BikeWear World L.L.C., “this is monumental for both uRide.tv and cycling fans worldwide. 2.0 million fans came out to support the riders of the Amgen’s Tour that had more than 700 miles of cycling terrain, 8 teams with amazing credentials, and proved to cycling fans everywhere that cycling is moving forward, like wheels in motion.”
The Tour of California started on February 14th, 2009 in Sacramento, California which happens to be the State capitol. The course on the first day was a time trial for a total of 2.4 miles. Stage 1 took place in Davis, riding to Santa Rosa, a total of 107.6 miles. Stage 2 will be from Sausalito to Santa Cruz, 115.9 miles, which included climbing and spectacular descents. Stage 3, from San Jose to Modesto, is a 104.2 miles trek and 1930 feet of elevation climb separating the field. Stage 4 was in the Sierra Mountains of Merced to Clovis, California and 115.4 miles. Stage 5, sponsored by Rabobank, is a long flat road course covering Visalia to Paso Robles, 134.3 miles. Solvang hosted a 15 mile time trial course on Friday, February 20th. The Santa Clarita to Pasadena route demonstrated to southern California residents and viewers what cycling is all about: the energy, the passion, the dedication of the second highest climb ever achieved in the Tour or 88.9 miles of fun. And lastly, Stage 8 ended in sunny San Diego, California with Palomar Mountain being the toughest obstacle, 7% grade incline, 4,200 feet of climbing, 21 switchbacks, completely separating the field one pedal at a time.
“We invite and encourage you to watch clips from the Amgen Tour of California, but make sure to check out uRide.tv’s video of the coolest comebacks and achievements the cycling field has seen in a while,” says Tauber. “We participated in Sacramento for the prologue and the finish in Escondido, to witness the climb and descents of Palomar Mountain.”
