South Coast Bayern U10 and U11 Girls Advance to Championship Weekend of CSL/US Club California Cup
SC Bayern U10 and U11 Girls Showcase Tough Defense to Move On in Cal Cup
Huntington Beach, CA, February 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- South Coast Bayern’s U10 and U11 Girls teams worked hard to limit shots from the opposition, scored timely goals, and will move on to the CSL/US Club California Cup championship weekend games in San Bernardino, CA.
Saturday morning South Coast Bayern's U11 girls take out PVSC Exiles Black 3-1, while the U10 team followed with a 4-0 win over Crescenta Valley SC.
Saturday afternoon the U11 girls soccer club dominated ball possession in its 4-0 victory over Los Gauchos, while the schedule had SC Bayern's U10 team off.
Coming back with two games on Sunday, South Coast Bayern's Girls U10 battled to a 1-0 halftime lead over Pateadores. In a tight struggle throughout, SC Bayern put in a goal midway through the second half and held on for a 2-0 win. The U10 girls followed that win with a 1-1 tie versus ISC Strikers Sunday afternoon, but their 2 wins and 1 tie in Pool play were enough to move them through to the Semi Finals weekend, where they will face off with LB Supreme Speed Demons Saturday, February 28 at the Soccer Complex in San Bernardino, California.
Sunday afternoon the girls U11 soccer team completed their undefeated weekend with a 2-0 win over Slammers North.
Following the games Sunday South Coast Bayern's coaches were happy at the results but far from satisfied. Addressing the team, Director of Soccer Development Bobby Bruch said, “Next weekend is going to be tough, so we know what we need to work on and we'll do that this week. We will get better."
