All American Basketball School Slam Dunks Its Way Into Sagemont
The Sagemont School in Weston already has a top-notch basketball program. This summer, they will add a top-notch basketball camp.
Weston, FL, February 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The All American Basketball School (AABS) has added The Sagemont Upper School Campus as their newest site. Currently, they have locations at Flanigan High School, Archbishop McCarthy High School, Coral Springs Charter High School and Cardinal Gibbons High School. Marty Seidlin, director of AABS and the Cardinal Gibbons Boys Varsity coach, is one of the most accomplished basketball camp directors in the United States. Along with AABS, he has had an active role in the nationally known 5 Star Basketball Camps. AABS has been the most successful basketball camp in Broward County over the past decade. Sagemont President, Brent Goldman, said, "Sagemont is extremely excited to be associated with the top basketball camp in South Florida.”
The Sagemont site is conveniently located off I-75. The camp will take place on the Upper School Campus at Sagemont’s new 13,000 square foot gymnasium that includes a championship court, and three half courts for the campers. Seidlin said, “I am thrilled to bring the All American Basketball School to Weston. The Sagemont School is an excellent private school and their new gymnasium is one of the best in the region.” There are 10 separate weekly summer sessions as well as a spring break camp. The spring break camp is April 6-10 and is currently taking applications. Campers are grouped according to age and ability and the counselors are some of the finest high school and college coaches in the country.
The goal of the camp is to have fun while developing basketball skills and building self-confidence and self-esteem. Typical daily activities at AABS include warm up/stretching, lectures and drills, teaching stations, games (each camper plays 2 games per day), 3 on 3, and contests & tournaments. Arts and crafts, game room and movies are available for the younger campers. The camp day runs from 9:00am-4:00pm with extended hours available at no extra charge. There is a ratio of 1 coach for every 8 campers. The cost per week is $240 and sibling and multiple week discounts are available. All facilities are fully air-conditioned and boys and girls ages 5-17 are welcome to attend. At the Sagemont location, children starting at the age of four are able to enroll.
