Director of Vaco Raleigh Design & Media Named to Contemporary Art Foundation Board
Raleigh, NC, March 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- David R. Rhode, managing partner of Vaco Raleigh (www.Vaco.com), an executive placement and consulting firm specializing in the fields of accounting and finance, information technology (IT), operations and executive search, has announced that Troy Knight, director of Vaco Design & Media, has been named to the Contemporary Art Foundation Board of Directors. CAF is the sole owner of the property of the future home for the Contemporary Art Museum, scheduled to open in the spring of 2010.
Knight will assist the board in setting the strategic direction to raise the additional capital required to transform the site and create and maintain a museum home for the Contemporary Art Museum. The primary goal for CAF is to oversee the establishment of the museum at 409 W. Martin St. in downtown Raleigh, but the foundation plans to continue its support for contemporary arts beyond this current project.
The Contemporary Art Museum was established in 1983 in Raleigh as the City Gallery of Contemporary Art. In 2006, the museum merged with the North Carolina State University College of Design to provide unique opportunities for study and has since broadened its vision to include the exploration of the intersections of art and science, technology and design.
