Hollywood Star Terry Moore Cruises in Clearwater
Famed Actress Gets Award from Gasparilla Film Festival, Celebrates with Cruise
Clearwater, FL, March 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MEETINGS AFLOAT! today proudly welcomed the award-winning Hollywood actress Terry Moore aboard its primary charter yacht, “Dolce Vita.” Ms. Moore, along with her Hollywood friend and fellow actress, Ann Jeffreys, went for a cruise out of Clearwater Yacht Club that took the Hollywood group around Clearwater Harbor, Clearwater Beach and the Gulf of Mexico.
Ms. Moore is visiting the Tampa Bay area because, on this past Thursday, she was presented with a “Lifetime Achievement” award by Tampa’s Gasparilla International Film Festival, which is being held from February 26 – March 7. MEETINGS AFLOAT! is a Tampa Bay yacht charter service, providing “on-the-water” meeting and hospitality venues to local and visiting business executives, celebrities and other upscale clients. The company’s yachts are also used as location settings and filming platforms for locally-produced videos, commercials and movies.
The cruise allowed Ms. Moore, Ms. Jeffreys and a group of their friends and co-workers to relax and enjoy the waters of the Tampa Bay area. It was a bit of a trip down “memory lane” for Ms. Moore, who starred in a movie filmed in the Tampa Bay area called “Beneath the 12 Mile Reef”; the film also starred Robert Wagner and was one of the first movies to use the “Cinemascope” filming technology.
Terry Moore’s Hollywood and TV credits cover more than 4 decades work. She has starred in more than 77 films and has her own star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame.” Her major film credits include “Mighty Joe Young,” a variant of the King Kong movies, and “Come Back, Little Sheba,” where she played opposite Burt Lancaster and Shirley Booth and was nominated for an Academy Award (Oscar) as “Best Supporting Actress.” She also starred in the movie, “Peyton Place.”
