Author Jill Divine Asks Children to Enter the Miles Smiles Colouring Competition

Miles Smiles book will help to raise a smile on a child's face in hospital.

Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, July 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Author, scriptwriter, and producer, Jill Divine, helped the Pied Piper appeal, a registered children’s charity, to Pass a Smile around Gloucestershire this weekend by asking children to enter the Miles Smiles colouring competition.

Jill started her own Mexican wave of smiles on American cable television in December last year, and it spread as far as Australia and New Zealand, and it is still rippling in England. She wishes to help everyone realize how good a smile feels and how important it is. Her first published novel Anjoy – God's Gifts depicts a planet where positive energy disappears and negativity takes control and shows what could happen to our planet if we allow this to happen. A smile is the quickest and easiest way to raise the positive energy because it is free to give, free to receive and is always welcomed.

Children were given a picture of a clown and asked to colour it in and put a smile on the clown’s face. They were also asked to name the clown, and say why they had decided on that name. The competition is open until Friday 8th September 2006 and the pictures can be obtained by sending a 1st class A4 S.A.E to Jill Divine, c/o Pied Piper Appeal, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Great Western Road, Glos. GL1 3NN.

Prizes are as follows - 1st PRIZE – Miles T Shirt, Miles Mug, plus School attended by child will be offered a 10-15 minute Christmas or Summer play written by Jill Divine, plus, when published, an autographed copy of “Miles Smiles.” 2nd PRIZE – Miles T Shirt and Miles Mug. 3rd and 4th PRIZES – Miles T shirt.

Miles Smiles is a children’s book that tells the story of a clown who has had his smile stolen and needs to walk miles and miles sharing other people’s smiles before he can get his smile back. Jill will be giving a percentage of her royalties from this book to the Pied Piper appeal when it is published. (please watch website for more about this book). Quote from Howard Cunningham-Smith, Appeal Director, “The Pied Piper Appeal is delighted to link with Jill whose story touches children by helping them to see how a simple smile can help wipe away their fears and pain.”
