1 Piece of Advice to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Toronto, Canada, March 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In recognition of International Women’s Day, the Office of Alumni Advancement at McMaster University in Hamilton is hosting a luncheon discussion for alumnae with the authors of the newly published book, 1 Piece of Advice, Monday March 9 at the University Club, West Room from noon until 1 p.m.

Patricia J. Moser-Stern (class of 1980 & 1981) and her cousin Barbara K. Moser will share their journey of discovery in creating 1 Piece of Advice, as well as the insights they have gained from the exceptional women they profile in their book. Both authors enjoy successful careers in what might be called historically male professions.

1 Piece of Advice highlights one single piece of advice from 48 trailblazing women around the world. These women were asked to provide the 1 Piece of Advice which they believed would result in others unlocking their potential. Female leaders from business, government, religion, entertainment, the military, education and aeronautics heeded the call and in so doing have chosen to act as mentors to women around the world.

The profiles of these renaissance women who through persistence, courage and passion have achieved both significance and success put a contextual frame around their advice. By understanding the challenges they faced and overcame, we too can learn.

The event is free, but seating is limited, and we are unable to accommodate unregistered guests. Please register early to avoid disappointment. A light lunch will be served.
