Synology® Disk Station DS209+ Triumphs in Performance, Receiving the CNET "Editor's Choice" Award
Synology® DS209+ was put to the test recently in the CNET labs, receiving an "Excellent" overall rating and securing the "Editor's Choice" award. The DS209+ is the latest addition to Synology Disk Station Models offering an unbeatable mix of maximum performance, features and affordability.
Taipei, Taiwan, March 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- "The Synology DS209+ offers awesome throughput speed and nearly all the features you could ever need in a NAS server," said Mr. Dong Ngo of CNET. "The DS209+ was tested in both RAID 1 and RAID 0 configurations, doing well in both, and topping the charts for performance by a remarkably large margin."
Ngo was also very impressed with the advancements made in Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 since he reviewed the DS107+ last May. Due to the new configuration, the DS209+'s Surveillance Station now can support up to 10 IP cameras, and the Download Station 2 is now capable of downloading from websites requiring authentication, and eMule file-sharing service. Photo Station 3, Ngo said, is "the device's biggest selling point for home users." The Photo Station 3 supports Cooliris 3-dimension browsing, and delivers an embellished photo slideshow. What's better, creating an online album is totally a hassle-free experience. Once activated, users drag the photos into the Photo shared folder, and "the DS209+ will take care of the rest and turn each folder of photos into a well-organized, customizable album," added Ngo.
"We are honored to receive the CNET Editor's Choice award for the DS209+," said Doug Self, Product Specialist at Synology America Corp. "The beta program for the Synology Disk Station Manager 2.1 will be closed soon and the official firmware will be available on Synology website for free download. We are confident that the new Disk Station Manager 2.1 will further raise the bar for NAS management." Added Self.
