Express Logic’s BenchX won the highly prestigious Embedded World Award in the tools category. This award pays tribute to especially innovative products or developments that are unique and future-orientated. Notably, this is the third prize that BenchX has secured.

Nurnberg, Germany, March 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Judged #1 in tools category among embedded tools products

Embedded World 2009 — Express Logic, Inc., the worldwide leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced that it was selected as the winner of the prestigious “Embedded Award 2009” at Embedded World, being held this week in Nürnberg, Germany. This award pays tribute to especially innovative products or developments that are unique and future-orientated. In selecting Express Logic for the AWARD in the tools category, the Embedded World selection committee judged BenchX as best among all new tools for embedded development.

An independent jury of experts selected Express Logic’s BenchX® as the best product in the tools category for its outstanding technical innovation in embedded technology. Notably, this is the third award BenchX has received within the last 12 months. It was selected by Venture Development Corporation (VDC) for its “Best in Show” award for the 2008 Embedded Systems Conference–Silicon Valley, and by eg3.com, who gave Express Logic its “Editor’s Tech Choice” award in recognition of the significant value BenchX represents as a new product for embedded developers.

BenchX is an Eclipse-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for embedded systems. It includes a project builder, text editor, C/C++ compiler, debugger, simulator, and a hardware debug probe. BenchX is customized and optimized for embedded development, representing significant enhancements and comprehensive integration into a polished commercial product. BenchX is designed to support development based on a variety of popular 32-bit microprocessor architectures. BenchX provides developers with an inexpensive, complete, industry-standard platform for embedded development with full commercial support.

“Express Logic has been a supplier of commercial real-time operating systems and middleware for over eleven years,” commented Steven Balacco, VDC Research. “Express Logic’s release of the BenchX IDE marks a big step in the company’s history and rounds out their product offering by prudently leveraging open source technology.”

“The embedded industry is constantly making significant innovations, and Express Logic’s introduction of BenchX is among the most newsworthy of such innovations in the Embedded Development Tools area,” noted Jason McDonald, founder and president of eg3.com.

“We are honored by this latest award from Embedded World, the industry’s leading worldwide conference for embedded developers,” commented William E. Lamie, president of Express Logic. “Our BenchX product adds embedded value to the open-source Eclipse framework and to the GNU tool chain. We’re thrilled to see that Embedded World, VDC and eg3.com agree that what we’ve designed is of significant value to the embedded developer.”
