A Toast to the Triangle Receives $10,000 Anonymous Donation
Raleigh, NC, March 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mary Freeman, president and CEO of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, has announced that the Center has received an anonymous sponsorship donation of $10,000 dollars for the 2009 A Toast to the Triangle™ event.
The anonymous sponsorship donation of $10,000 was given by a long-time Raleigh resident whose father served on the Board for many years. This family has continually supported the cause and shown dedication to the future success of the Tammy Lynn Center.
The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities was established in 1969 by parents of children with special needs: Billy and Ruth Pierce, – whose daughter, the late Tammy Lynn Pierce, is the Center’s Namesake – Mr. And Mrs. C. Durham Moore, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin B. Tucker. The Center officially opened in March 1972 and now provides educational, residential, and family support services for children and adults with special needs.
A Toast to the Triangle represents the Center’s largest annual fundraising event. The Toast has dramatically grown from raising $6,000 in its inaugural year of 1986 to in 2007, hosting more than 1,350 guests and netting more than $175,000 in fundraising proceeds. The fundraising goal for the 2009 A Toast to the Triangle is $200,000. The event will take place on Sunday, March 9 at 5:30 p.m. at North Carolina State University’s McKimmon Center in Raleigh.
