Clearwater, FL, March 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dr. David Minkoff, MD (http://www.drminkoff.com), alternative healthcare expert, triathlete and 35-time Ironman, launches the 6th year of his BodyHealth Newsletter. First published as an online newsletter in March 2004, The BodyHealth Newsletter brings timely and useful health and fitness information to its thousands of readers. In addition to Dr. David Minkoff, Dave Scott, 6-time Ironman World Champion, is a major contributor to the publication along with other Team BodyHealth athletes (http://www.bodyhealth.com/html/biobuilde/bhn_1_7_09.asp).

The spring of 2004 found Dr. Minkoff, MD, a complementary and alternative healthcare expert, guest lecturer, writer, and triathlete, preparing for his first Ironman race of the year. Additionally, he was bombarded by questions and emails from other triathletes, athletes and the general public asking him questions about fitness, training, nutrition, supplements and specifically how to increase speed, power, endurance and recovery. Many were complaining of post workout soreness, long recovery times and training to the point of getting sick. He wanted to answer each question personally but the volumes had become prohibitive, so he created the online BodyHealth newsletter.

The BodyHealth newsletter became the platform for Dr. David Minkoff to answer all the fitness questions he was getting. Dave Scott, world renowned coach and the first Ironman World Champion to be inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame, joined Dr. Minkoff providing articles, and answering reader questions about training and nutrition. Team BodyHealth members, sponsored by BodyHealth.com Inc also provide articles and reveal some of their training secrets.

“Health is not a static state,” says Dr. Minkoff, “it is determined by the daily lifestyle choices you make and the inherited strengths and weaknesses of your body. All individuals have their own unique optimum health for their body. This optimum state is a condition that can be measured by both objective and subjective indicators. This especially applies to the athlete who wishes to improve his fitness and his race times.”

In addition to writing journal articles and speaking engagements, Dr. Minkoff writes the BodyHealth Newsletter to empower individuals about their health and fitness. For more information or to sign-up for a free subscription visit (http://www.bodyhealth.com/html/biobuilde/bhn_1_7_09.asp).

Mr. David Minkoff (http://www.drminkoff.com) graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1974 and was elected to the “Phi Beta Kappa” of medical schools, the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Fraternity for very high academic achievement. He then worked as an attending physician in infectious disease while conducting original research on Ribaviron (a broad spectrum anti-viral agent to fight disease), co-directed a neo-natal intensive care unit and worked in emergency medicine until 1995. At that time, his wife became sick with an illness no physician could diagnose. Not accepting an uncertain prognosis, Dr. Minkoff went on a search to help her that led him out of emergency medicine into alternative medicine to find the answers. As a result of his advanced studies, his wife is now in good health and enjoying racing in triathlons.
