RTI and Tresys Partner to Enable Highly-Secure Data Distribution
Companies offer joint security architecture assessment to optimize design of high-performance distributed applications with security requirements.
San Jose, CA, March 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Real-Time Middleware Experts, and Tresys Technology, a provider of technology and services focused on customers with stringent security requirements, today announced a partnership to offer integrated technologies and services for incorporating security into high-performance distributed applications.
In partnership, RTI and Tresys have implemented a reference security policy to demonstrate using Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) to protect distributed applications that use RTI Data Distribution Service for integration or inter-process communication. Due to the unique and highly customized nature of distributed architectures, the companies have combined their expertise to offer a joint Security Architecture Assessment for tailoring the profile to specific system requirements.
“Leveraging both middleware and security expertise at the start of your project reduces risk and ensures optimal design for a secure distributed system,” said Karl MacMillan, director of Core Technology at Tresys. “RTI and Tresys working side-by-side on the analysis allows us to balance an application’s security and data distribution requirements with its performance demands.”
The joint Security Architecture Assessment extends both companies’ prior, independent offerings. Tresys provides strategic guidance to assist system architects, developers, and integrators in choosing and applying the latest security technologies. Similarly, RTI offers an architecture study that provides a RTI expert that works with the development team to identify its application requirements and use cases, then helps design a suitable architecture to best meet the objectives and performance requirements of the distributed system. The new combined service addresses the design of distributed real-time systems with security technology architected from the start. To learn more about the joint Security Architecture Assessment study, please visit http://www.rti.com/services/security-assessment.html.
“By pairing RTI’s expertise in high-performance distributed systems with Tresys’ expertise in SELinux, we are able to offer a comprehensive solution to developers and integrators of real-time applications with stringent information assurance requirements,” commented Curt Schacker, vice president of Professional Services at RTI.
RTI and Tresys will be hosting a seminar in the Washington, D.C., area on April 29. For more information, or to register, visit http://www.rti.com/mk/securing-dds-seminar.html. Additionally, Tresys offers a complimentary whitepaper entitled “Securing RTI Data Distribution Service with SELinux.” It can be located at http://www.rti.com/mk/securing-rti-dds-selinux.html.
