Hitachi Midrange Storage Platform Wins Bronze in Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com 2008 Products of the Year Awards

The Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com’s annual ‘Storage Products of the Year’ awards recognize the elite technologies that impacted the storage industry in 2008.

(NYSE: HIT) and the only provider of Services Oriented Storage Solutions, today announced its next-generation midrange storage platform, the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage (AMS) 2000 Series, has been selected by TechTarget’s Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com as a ‘Storage Products of the Year’ winner.

The Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com’s annual ‘Storage Products of the Year’ awards recognize the elite technologies that impacted the storage industry in 2008. The Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com editorial staff, in conjunction with a team of users, industry experts, analysts, and consultants narrowed the finalists down to a list of 15 products across five categories: backup and disaster recovery software, backup hardware, disk and disk subsystems, storage networking equipment and storage management software. Hitachi Data Systems received the Bronze Award in the disk and disk subsystems category. Other winners include BlueArc and Intel, which received the Gold and Silver, respectively.
