Dr. Charles Hamner Leads CED Biotech Forum
Raleigh, NC, March 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences (www.thehamner.org) has announced that Dr. Charles Hamner, Chair of the Board of Directors, will be the moderator for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) Biotech Forum on Monday, March 16, entitled “Translating Clinical Needs into Commercial Opportunities.” The forum, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will be held at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in Research Triangle Park and will focus on establishing new entrepreneurial strategies to meet unmet needs for cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Dr. Kim Lyerly, Director of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Dr. Cam Patterson, Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, will join Dr. Hamner as featured speakers for this program. Both physicians have been internationally recognized for their contributions to building cutting-edge scientific and clinical programs and are actively involved in starting entrepreneurial ventures.
CED’s event, in partnership with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, will convene at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, located in the Research Triangle Park at 15 T.W. Alexander Drive. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the forum starts at 5:30 p.m. A networking reception will follow the program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for CED member and $40 for non-members.
