New Partnership: National Association of Women MBAs and IvyExec.com
New York, NY, March 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Working toward the advancement of women in the workforce, the National Association of Women MBAs and IvyExec.com have joined forces to bring new career opportunities to highly qualified professionals. The two organizations have partnered to help expand their common mission: Propelling professional women to positions of power within leading corporations. The strong participation of professional women within Ivy Exec’s network provided the motivation to establish a formal partnership with NAWMBA, an organization whose origin can be traced back to 1984.
In 2009 the partnership was kicked off with a series of co-created professional development opportunities for MBA professionals. Thanks to the input of leaders such as Tonya Olpin, Executive Director of NAWMBA and Elena Bajic, Founder and CEO of Ivy Exec, the two organizations will launch a Webinar Series beginning in March.
“It is obvious that the job market has turned extremely competitive. Both our organizations understand that giving our members the right tools is the most valuable advantage we can provide. In addition to our exclusive job openings, these tools can certainly make a difference”, says Alex Baranpuria, Business Development Associate at Ivy Exec.
The webinars will be open to members of both organizations, as well as non-members. The webinar topics will transcend gender and are as diverse as the unique issues that affect top talent today. The next four online events are detailed below:
1. “Working through the Transition” - Job Reentry in the 21st Century – March 24th
Returning to the workplace could occur for numerous reasons, including life-changing activities such as divorce, death of a spouse or grown children. This webinar will provide valuable insight to professional women who are looking to work through the transition.
2. “Click Here to Apply” – The Successful Online Job Search - April 21st
The Internet has gotten a bad rap from some industry professionals as an ineffective job seeker tool. In actuality, the Internet can be a great resource for professional job seekers. During this webinar, Ivy Exec will reveal 5 key guidelines to help you perform a successful online job search.
3. “Gone in 30 seconds” - Resume Customization – May 26th
So you’ve put together the perfect resume, one that will ultimately get only 30 seconds of a hiring manager’s time. Now you’re ready to send it to a million of them, right? Wrong. A general resume may have been appropriate while you were in college, but each time you apply for a specific position, customizing your resume is the key to getting noticed. This is the webinar for professionals looking to take their resume from practical to perfect fit.
4. “Don’t Underestimate the Power of a Smile” – Mastering the Art of Interviewing – June 23rd
While the margins on your resume are important, don’t forget that employers are selecting individuals who have not only job-related experience, but who they believe will be a good fit in their business family. Here's how to outclass your competition by avoiding some of the interview mistakes that have derailed job hunters from reaching their goal.
