WorkSmart COO Clay Harris Named Co-Chairman of Achievement Academy of Durham
Durham, NC, March 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- WorkSmart, a leading provider of Information Technology services and solutions in North Carolina, has announced that Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Clay Harris was named co-chairman of the Achievement Academy of Durham (AAD) in January of this year. The school empowers at-risk students who have dropped out of high school to obtain a North Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma and postsecondary education. Harris became involved with the Achievement Academy in early 2007.
AAD works to directly address the dropout rate of Durham and improve student’s civic participation and lifetime earning power. The city has an overall four-year graduation rate of 62%. Median earnings for those with a high school or equivalency diploma are nearly $7,000 more per year than those who dropped out of high school.
