Finding New Ways to Market in a Tough Economy
Hanover Park, IL, March 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- DataMart Direct, a direct marketing company based in Hanover Park, IL hosts an open house event/ business after hours event for local Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations.
DataMart Direct is committed to finding new ways to market their 35 plus year old business and hosting this event for the chambers, associations as well as their own clients and prospects brought all types of people and businesses to their organization. And despite a bad economy coupled with it being February in Chicago, DataMart Direct’s marketing efforts convinced over 200 people to come through their door.
The event was put together to provide a networking opportunity for DataMart Direct and its guests. Refreshments were served from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and a limited amount of participant entertainment was provided, including a race track built inside the warehouse where participants raced remote control cars. Guest also toured the DataMart Direct facility, learning about their state of the art machinery as well as the processing of various types of jobs.
While providing entertainment and a place to network, DataMart Direct also wanted to give its visitors a better understanding of the different services they offer such as mailing, fulfillment, digital print, 1-1 marketing, web-to-print, and PURL technology. Too often clients lock their suppliers into one type of service rather then exploring all the different needs that can be satisfied from that one vendor. Going to a single source provider is a great way to simplify sourcing, reduce cost, and maintain consistency. This event gave clients, prospects, and association/chamber members alike an opportunity to see first hand all of the different services DataMart Direct has to offer.
The event introduced 200 plus people to DataMart Direct and even broadened existing client’s view of the company. Perhaps most importantly, the organization has acquired some new clients and is in the process of working with new prospects as well.
Cross-channel marketing has proven to be the most effective method for DataMart Direct. Combining direct mail, email, personalized URLs and word of mouth has made their open house/ business after hours campaign one of the most successful to date.
