Power Challenge Teams with Fox Soccer Channel to Redefine the Soccer Experience
Partnership Integrates 3-D Soccer Game into Website, Telecasts and Advertising
Stockholm, Sweden, March 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Fox Soccer Channel has partnered with web game developer Power Challenge to launch an interactive online experience, enabling soccer fans to create their own football clubs and emulate their real-world favorite players and teams with the addition of Power Soccer, a web-based console-quality multi-player soccer video game.
Power Soccer users build, personalize and play their own soccer teams in live head-to-head matches with other players around the globe. Users can join their favorite national and Barclays Premier League teams in the Power Soccer Fan Zone, then play cups against other fans to earn trophies for their favorite teams.
“By offering this integrated online video game experience to our passionate soccer fans, we are also creating a strategic opportunity for our advertisers,” said Fox Soccer Channel vice president of interactive media Bhavesh Patel. “As our viewers continue to consume their media across multiple platforms, teaming with Power Challenge will enhance their on-air and online experience.”
Advertisers know users are spending nearly two times as many hours a week online versus watching television (IDC study, 2008), so the unique ability to serve video ads and vibrant in-game branding within Power Soccer is a great opportunity to extend their reach in a rich, contextual way and build on their television campaigns.
“We are excited to work with Fox Soccer Channel and expand the total soccer experience for users around the globe,” said Johan Christenson, Power Challenge CEO. “In the months ahead, we will create unique game tournaments that tie-in with the real-world telecasts, giving users a unique possibility to follow the action on TV while simultaneously engaging on the web. The combination of our offerings truly brings a unique soccer experience.”
Power Soccer is integrated on the co-branded microsite foxsports.com/foxsoccer.com/powerchallenge. Fox Soccer Channel will unveil a :30-second on-air promotional spot to drive viewer awareness of the game.
