Icon Models, Toronto - Alfred Sung
Toronto, Canada, March 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Icon Models, Toronto - Alfred Sung
Toronto's L'Oreal Fashion Week impresses audiences every year with new, unique and innovative styles from Canadian emerging and established designers. The Spring/Summer '09 collections were no exception - "Canada's unofficial design ambassador" (www.alfredsung.com) Alfred Sung's Bridal couture collection kicked off the week at the Nathan Phillips Square. His models showcased limitless variations of white gowns, made with chiffon and tulle and draped in lace, strings of pearls and rhinestones. The gowns were anything but minimalist; Fashion Magazine noted that although they were all extravagantly embellished and layered, the gowns were still elegant. Sung's genius and his signature classic styling and timeless elegance were met with a standing ovation.
Icon Model Management was proud to have their models be part of Sung's show. ICON is one of Toronto's top modeling agencies. Sung, a Canadian-based designer also has a major presence in the international fashion industry, and Icon's models were excited to take part in one of the biggest shows of Toronto's Fashion Week.
Alfred Sung was born in Shanghai in 1948. He studied couture at Chambre Syndicate de la Couture Parsienne in Paris and at Parsons School of Design in New York. Sung eventually moved to Canada in 1972 and did freelance projects before opening a shop called Moon in Toronto's trendy Yorkville. Sung then partnered up with Saul and Joseph Mimran to create a business, which is now known as Club Monaco and is known for its casual looks for young, spirited men and women. Sung also developed the Alfred Sung ready-to-wear collection, which appears at Nordstrom's Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman among others.
Throughout the years, Alfred Sung has gained a strong reputation in the fashion industry with his numerous accomplishments. The Alfred Sung brand has grown significantly, and now includes fragrances, eyewear, sunglasses, jewelry and even home furnishings. Alfred Sung is also noted in the industry for his collections of bridal gowns, which were shown in last year's L'Oreal Fashion Week.
Walking on Sung's runway, wearing exquisite wedding gowns is just one of the many opportunities that ICON provides for its models through their strong and loyal relationships with clients. ICON continues to work with their clients from the many aspects of the entertainment and fashion industry to ensure that their models reach their full potential.
