Luang Prabang, Laos, March 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This tour takes travelers into several villages of the most prominent ethnic groups in Northern Laos: the Khmu and H’mong. The Khmu are also called "Laos Theung" and settle at a medium altitude, the later, sometimes called "Laos Soung", live in high regions along the mountain ridges.

Travelers will see two scenic waterfalls on day 3. Day 4 and 5 are spent kayaking and relaxing in the rural setting of the Lotravelersr Nam Ou River.

Detail itinerary:

Day 1: Transfer to the Khmu village of Ban Huay Lo where travelers start the trek today. The trail passes through two Khmu & H’mong villages, whilst continuously gaining height. Travelers will trek to H’mong village of Ban Mok Chung where travelers will visit local family and learn about the culture of the Hmong. Travelers continue to Ban Mok Chung, another H’mong village, for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Trekking further into the rugged and densely forested mountains travelersst of the Nam Ou valley. Travelers trek through remote and beautiful bamboo forest & limestone scenery. Lunch is served in the Khmu-village of Ban Na Savang. Dinner and Home-stay is in the village of Ban Houay Kok.

Day 3: The trekking trip today take us pass the Khmu Village of Huay Kha to Tad Ngai and Tad Noi waterfalls, where travelers have lunch break and relax in the cool water of the waterfalls. The trek ends on the banks of the Nam Ou River in the late afternoon. Travelers will have dinner and stay overnight in the Lao Leu village of Ban Pak Chaek.

Day 4: After breakfast at the home-stay travelers get basic paddle instructions before travelers start the kayaking adventure on the Nam Ou River.

The first kayaking stretch leads travelers to south of Ban Pak Chaek. Now the villagers move to other side of the Nam Ou River. Travelers then paddle through five fun rapids (Introduction grade). Along the way travelers will encounter local people fishing and gold panning by the river banks.

The afternoon is more interesting as travelers paddle past lots of scenic villages on both banks of the river. In the late afternoon, travelers reach Ban Hadko Village where travelers stay overnight.

Day 5: After breakfast, the kayak adventure continues down stream Nam Ou River over passing the Eagle Rock and limestone facing to Pak Ou Cave (Buddha Cave).

After lunch, travelers walk to Pak Ou Cave where house thousand of Buddha statues. The kayak adventure will end at a handicraft village where travelers learn how the Laotian making rice wine. After here travelers will be transfer by songthaew back to Luang Prabang via Xang Khong, the waving and Sa paper making village.
