MyrtleBeachHotels.com Hosts First Ever Online Twitter Beach Bash

Myrtle Beach, SC, March 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A group of hotels and golf courses in Myrtle Beach are taking on Twitter in a cutting-edge way to share information about their resorts and courses, while allowing participants to have fun and win prizes. MyrtleBeachHotels.com will host the first ever Twitter Beach Bash on March 24, from 8:30-10 p.m. EST online via Twitter, a popular micro-blogging service, and give away prizes ranging from Starbucks gift cards to a grand prize $1000 gift certificate for accommodations at one of their oceanfront resorts.

The Twitter Beach Bash is a Twitter “party” where participants use a specific word starting with “#” (in this case the company has chosen #BeachBash) to flag their posts, or “tweets,” as related to the party. Then, participants can use a variety of applications to follow all posts that include the word #BeachBash in order to follow the conversation. TweetGrid.com/party is the suggested application to follow the Beach Bash.

The Beach Bash will combine prizes, trivia and conversation all revolving around Myrtle Beach. During the bash, the company will give away a host of prizes, including restaurant gift certificates, beach towels, golf rounds, tickets to Myrtle Beach attractions and more if participants can answer questions about MyrtleBeachHotels.com resorts correctly. Prize winners will be randomly chosen from those who submit the correct answer within the allotted time.

The winner for the grand prize $1000 gift certificate to MyrtleBeachHotels.com will also be randomly selected. Participants can enter the grand prize contest in multiple ways, such as answering a prize question correctly during the Beach Bash, recruiting someone to become a fan of one of the resort’s Facebook pages, “twittering” about the bash, writing a blog post about the bash, or uploading a video to YouTube explaining why you deserve the gift certificate. See complete rules for the specifics. The gift certificate is available at any of the MyrtleBeachHotels.com resorts and is good for any date.
