Margery Kraus Inducted Into the Enterprising Women Hall of Fame

Members of the Hall of Fame have demonstrated a lifetime of remarkable achievements, including building a business that has achieved a high measure of success or establishing a significant nonprofit organization and giving back to the women’s business community over many years. Kraus was inducted at a special ceremony held during the 2009 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards, March 11-13 at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Kraus established APCO Worldwide in 1984 and the company has grown from one office in Washington, D.C., to a multinational consulting firm with nearly 600 practitioners in 29 offices throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The firm provides high-end strategic counsel in corporate communication and public affairs and offers an integrated approach to addressing clients’ challenges and opportunities. Kraus’ accomplishments have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® in the Services category in Greater Washington and Washington PR Woman of the Year. She is active on several boards and committees including Northwestern Mutual Life, GML Limited and the Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Women Presidents' Organization.
