MoBiTec GmbH Closes Distribution Agreement for Lactococcus lactis Gene Expression System with NIZO Food Research
NIZO food research has developed a Gram positive gene expression system making use of Lactococcus lactis and its regulation mechanism for the production of the antibiotic peptide nisin, the NIsin Controlled gene Expression system (NICE). The NICE system is already used as a dedicated expression system by many labs all around the world. With NICE, MoBiTec expands its rich portfolio of non-E. coli based expression systems.
Goettingen, Germany, March 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NIZO food research has developed and successfully used in many projects a Gram positive gene expression system making use of Lactococcus lactis and its regulation mechanism for the production of the antibiotic peptide nisin, the NIsin Controlled gene Expression system (NICE). The NICE system is already used as a dedicated expression system by many labs all around the world. With NICE, MoBiTec expands its rich portfolio of non-E. coli based expression systems and will offer the technology to its customer base and academic researchers all around the world. Thus, researchers who wish to use NICE technology for research purposes are welcome to address their requests to MoBiTec. Customers who wish to use NICE technology to produce commercial products continue to direct their requests to NIZO in order to obtain a license. In the near future a system based on the same principle, called SURE (SUbtilin Regulated gene Expression) will be available for Bacillus subtilis.
