2nd Annual Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival
Wilmington, VT, March 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce and Vermont Life Magazine are now accepting applications for vendors at their premiere annual wine and food festival on September 25, 26 and 27th, 2009.
Named a 2009 Top 10 Fall Event by the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce, the 2nd annual Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival celebrates the best of Vermont’s wine and food and highlights the quality and ingenuity of Vermont producers and artisans.
A three-day event in southern Vermont's Mount Snow Valley, the Wine & Harvest Festival offers an assortment of food-related experiences and dining options.
The inaugural year of the fully-tented event was well attended, despite severe weather challenges. Fifty-five vendors and demonstrators received more than 1,500 visitors, validating the appeal of Vermont products to out-of-state consumers. Wine-pairing dinners featuring Vermont wines at some of the Valley’s finest eateries sold out prior to the event. The Vermont Wine & Cheese pairing presentation featuring Shelburne Vineyards, the Vermont Cheese Council and the Purple Chef received rave reviews on the quality of the products, the knowledge of the presenters and its overall educational value.
A recap of the 2008 event, including photos and marketing particulars is available at the festival website www.TheVermontFestival.com
In 2009, organizers will build on the first year’s success.
“We’ve configured the festival site to accommodate more wine and food vendors in the same area and are broadening the entertainment aspects of the event by adding a number of cooking demonstrations from notable Vermont chefs,” noted chamber president Lisa Sullivan. “We’re also adding a family localvore dining experience on the festival grounds Saturday night for folks looking for something a little simpler then the fine dining experience of the wine pairing dinners.”
Vermont Life editor Mary Hegarty Nowlan is looking forward to year two.
“The Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival provides an excellent connection between the magazine, its readers and what its readers enjoy: high quality food and the good things in life.”
Demand for vending spaces is high; seventy five percent of the 2008 vendors have already secured spots for 2009 including sponsors Chittenden Bank, Vermont Public Radio, Honora Winery, Vermont Smoke & Cure, and Mount Snow Resort. Special rates are available to vendors committing prior to April 1st. Special vendor lodging rates are also currently available at the Beaver Brook Bed & Breakfast (adjacent to the festival grounds) and other establishments in the Mount Snow Valley; a full listing of accommodations is available at the chamber of commerce web site www.VisitVermont.com.
