Lead singer Carl Giammarese says, “The Buckinghams always enjoyed playing in Alabama in our cross-country tours of the 60s. We look forward to playing the Riverwalk Amphitheatre, to take our fans and friends back to great memories. We applaud the CCFA for establishing national chapters to help patients and their families.” The band is best known for their #1 hit, “Kind of a Drag” and for originating the use of horns in their rock recordings, also made popular by bands including Blood, Sweat and Tears and Chicago.
Bass player Nick Fortuna notes, “When The Buckinghams perform, our audiences can’t resist getting up to dance. We enjoy putting on a high energy show.” In addition to their hits, The Buckinghams will perform solid gold 60s medleys from Three Dog Night, Motown, and Chicago, plus songs from their newest release, “Reaching Back.” The Buckinghams were recently signed to national label, Fuel Records and released 3 CDs in 2008 while maintaining a busy national concert schedule.
