David Spade Joins with Operation Helmet to Help Protect Our Troops
Hats - or helmets - off to David Spade. The Rules of Engagement star teams up with Operation Helmet to provide 3,000 blast- and impact-protecting helmet pads to U.S. combat troops.
Montgomery, TX, March 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- David Spade, actor and comedian, is well known for his humor, comedy and wit. But today he is deadly serious about helping our men and women in uniform. Spade is teaming up with Dr Bob Meaders, founder and president of Operation Helmet to provide three thousand (3,000) of our combat troops with the very best blast/impact protecting helmet pads America can provide.
The military helmet pads now in use are so hard they cause headaches, distracting troops’ concentration from their dangerous and sometimes deadly missions, so Spade decided to pitch in and help remedy the situation. Better, equally protective and much more wearable helmet pads allow troops go about their missions in comfort as well as safety.
Patriotic Americans have donated to Operation Helmet’s provision of 41,000 helmet pad upgrades to date and they are gratified that yet another Hollywood notable has put their money and heart into helping bring our warriors home safely.
A Man never stands so tall as when he unselfishly helps another.
About Operation Helmet
Operation Helmet is a nonpartisan, 501(c)3 charitable grassroots effort that provides helmet upgrade kits free of charge to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. These helmet upgrade kits consist of shock-absorbing pads and a new strap system. Operation Helmet depends on tax-deductible donations and is a team member of AmericaSupportsYou.mil. For $35-$100, depending on the helmet type, added safety and comfort can be provided for a trooper. But donations of any amount are welcome. The donation can be designated for a specific branch of the military, a particular unit or an individual trooper. 100% of donations go toward helmet kits. There are no administrative costs deducted and the Operation’s books are available for inspection by anyone who wants to see them. To date, Operation Helmet has sent upgrade kits to over 41,000 troops.
