Exclusive Interview with Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Published in Asean Affairs Magazine Mar/April 2009 Issue

Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and US President Barack Obama have a few things in common. They are both youthful, and they both are facing great challenges to revive ailing economies.

Bangkok, Thailand, March 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Asean Affairs, the Voice of Southeast Asia based in Bangkok and distributed worldwide (34 Countries, 4 Continents) announced the availability of its exclusive interview with Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the founder of Asean Affairs Mr. S. Roy. This interview covered a broad range of topics including: How to get Thailand back on its feet, parallels between his election and US President Barack Obama, and his thoughts on the recently concluded Asean Summit.

During the interview PM Abhisit responded to a variety of questions including the parallels drawn between him and US President Obama. PM Abhisit said “The comparison is very flattering. The (US) President (Barack Obama) has made history just being where he is today and there is so much hope pinned on him. What we have in common is the fact that there are huge challenges facing us in the economic crisis and here (in Thailand) we also have the political dimension interacting with these economic problems.”

Asean Affairs founder, S. Roy said “I was honored to have the opportunity to interview PM Abhisit soon after he took office here in Thailand. We look forward to further developments in Thailand under PM Abhisit and to have the opportunity in the future to have a follow-up interview later this year.”
