iUniverse Would Like to Announce the Release of the Sound of Hope by Anne Bauer

Bloomington, IN, March 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Sound of Hope by Anne Bauer.

The Sound of Hope traces the life of one ‘lost child’, Annie, through her early years of yearning to know the truth about her mother to adulthood along the emotional journey over many roads that finally merge into the road to truth—the discovery and overdue close relationship with her birth mother.

As a child, Annie believed that adoption was the norm, that parents ‘shopped’ for their children much like shopping for a new car or house. But something was missing. Annie was adopted. And, her adoptive parents—a hot-tempered father and emotionally distant mother, wanted to keep her origins secret. Her only saving grace was her free-spirited Irish grandmother, whose contagious zest for life, quick wit and old sayings, instilled in Annie a sense of curiosity and wisdom beyond her years.

Inspired by her grandmother’s love and acceptance, Annie’s quest for truth began in earnest as a young adult. Author Anne Bauer vividly explores the complex reactions to a long-delayed reunion, as well as the emotional fallout experienced by everyone in the adoption triangle—child, adoptive parents, parents of origin. The Sound of Hope (published by iUniverse) illustrates the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and the seemingly impossible in the quest for truth.

About the Author
Sound of Hope author Anne Bauer’s inspiration for writing a true account of her life as an adopted individual can be distilled into one simple word—hope. Woven into her story is the hope of fostering awareness of the civil rights of adoptees and promoting reform in the current laws pertaining to adoptee records. Bauer, a RN and Reiki energy healer, lives in northern New Jersey with her husband and their three children. She is a former foster parent and periodically volunteers at Children's Aid and Family Services in Bergen County (NJ).
