Award-Winning DC Portait Photographer Launches Equestrian Portraiture Division
Award-winning photographer and equestrian Ruth David announced the launch today of her new division, The Carousel - Equestrian Portraiture, devoted exclusively to portraiture of children and adults with their equine companions.
Chantilly, VA, March 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Award-winning Virginia portrait photographer Ruth David announces the launch of "The Carousel" - an Equestrian Portraiture division for the Virginia Hunt Country and surrounding areas.
Photographer and equestrian Ruth David announced the launch today of her new division, The Carousel - Equestrian Portraiture. A nationally-published award winning portrait photographer, Ms. David has been riding and showing horses in and around Middleburg, Virginia for over twenty years, and provides custom fine-art portraiture for clients throughout the Metro DC area.
In an effort to bridge the gap between her love of horses and her art, she has launched a division of her company, R. David Original Photography, called The Carousel, which will be devoted exclusively to portraiture of children and adults with their equine companions. Her skill and knowledge of horses is an invaluable tool in portrait photography in the equestrian market. Her experience working with children gives her a decided edge with whimsical photography of children and ponies. "These are not your every day formal horse-show poses", says Ms. David. "I do little girls and their ponies at tea, women in Renaissance gowns with their warmbloods, high school seniors with their show horses in their high heels".
She is a member of Professional Photographers of America, the International Registry of Children’s Photographers, and the American Society of Media Photographers. Starting in 2009, she will direct the new DC chapter of Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization providing artistic portraiture for children with life-threatening diseases at Children’s Hospital. She has regularly photographed President Obama since 2007, both during the primary campaign and for the DNC.
