The west tower of which is located directly on the Meridian Time Line and to highlight this Light Tape® has been fitted to the North and South face of the building.
Light Tape manufacturer Electro-LuminX Lighting Corporation of Chester, Virginia, supplied two spectacular 2 inch wide x 230 feet long (50mm wide by 70m) lengths of Electric Blue Light Tape, encapsulated in E100, the World’s most technically advanced, crystal clear Barrier Polymer Film of it’s kind from The Honeywell Corporation’s Specialty Products Group. So providing an impermeable, UV stable, all weather resistant finish to market leading electroluminescent lighting system Light Tape.
The Towers have been constructed using innovative prefabrication techniques, and will provide housing to an area experiencing substantial regeneration in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. The decision by Formation Architects to design three towers for the site was intended to capitalize on the impressive views over nearby Canary Wharf, the Millenium Dome and the river, and the development also benefits from having East India Docklands Light Railway station immediately beside it.
Light Tape, a ground breaking lighting solution, is a unique environmentally friendly, wafer thin light bulb which is set to revolutionize the use of light in architectural building display.
