Najam Sheraz Announces North American Tour
Pakistani Pop star Najam Sheraz is scheduling a tour of the United States and Canada beginning this summer.
Miami, FL, March 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A summer/fall tour of North American cities is being announced by Najam Sheraz’s public relations team, Janet Goodman Publicity and Booking in Miami; dates TBA soon.
Backed by an American-based band, Sheraz and The Only Love Tour will make stops, performing at special Pakistan Day celebrations. This August 14th marks the 62th anniversary of Pakistan Independence.
Sheraz’s Pak Day concerts are tributes to Pakistan, full of the national spirit that he is famous for. His patriotic mega hits, such as Hum Bolen Mohabbat Ki Zuban, Hamari Pehchan, Aao Wahan Chalain and especially his version of the Pakistan National Anthem, which is recognized as The official version played today, encourage audiences to sing along. A musical tribute to Pakistani legends, as well as hit Pop songs from the new and critically acclaimed CD “Najam” – recorded with mainstream musicians from the British music industry - will all play major roles in Sheraz’s summer concert series.
The Only Love Tour takes it’s name from Sheraz’s powerful all-English peace anthem Only Love, which he performed at the Olympic Torch Relay ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Games, The Global Peace and Unity event at London’s Excel, and at the LA Convention Center, where he became the first ever Pakistani performer to grace their stage.
In the last several months, Najam Sheraz has wrapped up work on 3 new music videos of songs on his latest album. Video release dates are scheduled before the summer tour begins in July.
The record’s promotion kicked off with a successful campaign in India last April and two music videos promoting the album have already hit the airways. The much talked about Khwabon Ke Rishtey was filmed in Mumbai, led by Bollywood director Shareen Mantari. Dil Tumhara Bhi Hae, directed by Great Britain’s Bryan Thompson, was shot entirely on location in London and features U.K. Jazz singer Natalie Williams in Sheraz’s first Urdu/English duet.
Along with hitting the major urban Pak Day celebrations, The Only Love Tour will also visit smaller cities, and universities and colleges this fall throughout North America.
