Taoyuan City, Taiwan, March 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In a ceremony held last week in Taipei, Taiwan’s Min-Sheng Hospital was awarded the Joint Commission International Disease Specific Accreditation for Acute Myocardial Infarction.
Min-Sheng Hospital is the first hospital in Taiwan to receive Disease Specific Accreditation. Min-Sheng Hospital was already the first hospital in Taiwan to be accredited JCI back in 2006. It is part of the hospital’s strategy to enhance its medical services and quality, by seeking various accreditations.
The evaluation focused on quality indicators, clinical care, and the quality of clinical care. It included a cardiovascular briefing presentation, a review of written information, an on-site inspection of all units, as well as patient visits through the international external audit system of the Joint Commission.
“Our team has extremely high standards, and we use every treatment at our disposal” said Dr. Kang Zhi-Sun, Director of the department of cardiovascular Medicine at Min-Sheng Hospital, adding “The cardiovascular team is on standby 24/7, so patients arriving at the emergency room can receive diagnosis quickly, providing them with the best chance of being rescued from myocardial necrosis”.
