MoneyTree's First Batch of Financial Geniuses Graduate
Now They're Financially Ready to Meet the Challenges of The Real World.
Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, March 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MoneyTree held it’s Graduation Ceremony for the first batch of Financial Geniuses that graduated from the MoneyTree Program at Bangunan Bakti Siti Hasmah, TTDI last Saturday (March 21st, 2009).
A total of 53 students from 7 classes graduated last Saturday, with 46 graduates from MoneyTree’s Junior Levels 1 & 2, and 7 graduates from Apprentice Levels 1 & 2. 12 of the graduates who have also gone through the MoneyTree 2-Day Fast Track program also received their certificates from Open University Malaysia (OUM); the MoneyTree program is the first program of its kind to receive certification and endorsement from OUM.
MoneyTree Asia Pacific Limited, CEO, Mr. Michael Reyes stated, “We are very pleased to see major changes and improvements in the mindsets and mentality of our graduates when it comes to them managing their personal finances. These MoneyTree graduates will certainly have a much higher chance of succeeding financially in the real world as they are now well equipped with the necessary knowledge and mindsets to face the challenges of the real world. However, our objective of developing the next generation of financially savvy kids is far from over. We hope more parents would be willing to work hand in hand with us to give their children a financial head start in life.”
The highlight of the graduation ceremony was the “MoneyTree Auction” in which graduates had to bid against their fellow classmates for cool prizes with the MoneyTree currency they earned in the MoneyTree classes. Among the prizes that were up for grabs during the auction were PS2s, Digital Cameras, High Quality Multimedia Speakers, Hand phones and Colour Printers.
Three special awards were also awarded to 3 outstanding students in honour of their efforts and hard work they put in throughout the duration of the classes. The awards include “The Most Outstanding Overall Improvement” award which was awarded to Gillian Tan (14), “The Most Outstanding Student (Junior Level)” award which was awarded to Toon Kok Hoong (12), and “The Most Outstanding Student (Apprentice Level)” award which was awarded to Isaac Chan (14).
Throughout the MoneyTree program, the graduates have been taught, among other things, the principles of personal financial management, principles behind wealth creation, common investment instruments, the banking system, inflation and its effects on money, and a whole range of other topics related to financial matters.
The graduation ceremony was graced by Mr Hamzah bin Shafie, the Senior Manager of the Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia.
