Krylon® Products Group Partners with Common Ground Alliance to Promote 811 "Call Before You Dig" Number
Krylon Products Group has partnered with the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) to promote safe digging. As part of National Safe Digging Month this April, Krylon and CGA are working together to inform the public about 811, the national number for homeowners and professional excavators to call before digging. Krylon is the first and only coatings company to add the national 811 number to its marking paint labels.
Cleveland, OH, March 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Krylon Products Group has taken another step to affirm their commitment to the environment by partnering with the Common Ground Alliance (CGA), an association dedicated to protecting underground utility lines.
Krylon and CGA are working together to inform the public about 811, the national number for homeowners and professional excavators to call before digging. April is National Safe Digging Month, and it’s important for people to know that every digging job requires a call, even small projects like planting trees and shrubs.
Anyone planning excavation should call 811 before digging to schedule a professional locator from their utilities company to mark underground utility lines, preventing personal injury as well as property damage. The depth of utility lines varies, and multiple utility lines are often located in a common area. Digging without calling can disrupt service to an entire neighborhood and potentially result in fines and repair costs.
“Krylon is the first and only coatings company to add the national 811 number to its marking paint labels,” said Bill Deckard, Account Manager, Locators, Krylon Industrial. “We hope to help spread the word about the 811 number and the importance of safe digging.”
The Krylon Industrial brand inverted marking paints meet American Public Works Association (APWA) recommended marking guidelines. The brand includes water-based and fluorescent paints for marking gas, petro, oil, roads, water, electrical, sewers/drains, phone and conduit lines, proposed excavation, and temporary survey marking. Krylon’s marking paints have unique features such as UV resistance and bold, single-pass marking to ensure maximum coverage.
“Partnering with CGA is just one way Krylon Products Group is contributing to a safer community and better environment,” said Sharon Sammon, Product Manager, Krylon Industrial. “We are dedicated to helping consumers and businesses choose the highest quality, environmentally friendly products for a wide range of industrial applications.”
Krylon’s Greenhouse Gas-Free program is another way the company is working to help others make environmentally responsible decisions. With more than 1,600 greenhouse gas-free products to offer, Krylon helps both industrial consumers and manufacturing facilities choose non-ozone-depleting alternatives that meet their needs.
Paints, coatings, lubricants, electronic cleaners and degreasers are just a few of the Greenhouse Gas-Free products available from Krylon.
