Debut Author Has a Book Signing in Tustin on March 27th

A local Orange County poet has just published his first book, Experiencing Divinity, Sharing Awakening, containing his poems, prayers and true stories from his life. He is doing a reading and book signing this Friday.

Tustin, CA, March 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kundan Chhabra's new debut book, Experiencing Divinity, Sharing Awakening has received rave reviews from many people. His poems are being appreciated by well-known authors such as Anne Sermons Gillis, author of Offbeat Prayer for the Modern Mystic, who says, of his poem, Why We Love: "I read Kundan's love poem; my heart sat up with rapt attention and my body felt relieved, softer. Some poems bring space, expansiveness, others bring grace. His poem brings expansive grace." Another author, Mirabai Starr, who translated The Interior Castle and The Dark Night of the Soul, says, about Kundan: "He is a special person with a rare heart and so much love to give."

Kundan will be doing a poetry reading, mini workshop and book signing at Common Ground, a local church in Tustin on March 27th, 2009, from 7 to 8:30PM. This will be his first book signing in Orange County.

Here is one of his best poems:

Her Entrance is a happy ray of sunshine into the room,
and yes!
I can live with or without her.
After all, I myself am a bundle of joy,
and I do not believe in sentimental love songs
like
“There’s no sunshine when she’s gone.”
Because, even during the times when she’s away from me,
the sun is still shining and the sky is still beautiful,
except, of course,
when it rains,
but even that is really cool,
because, after it rains,
I can see the rainbow.

And, dancing in the rain can be quite fun!

But it's just incredibly nice to be around her.

Part 2

In some places in the world,
there is a strong bit of individualism,
and Frank Sinatra's "I Did it My Way" is the back-up national anthem.
But There are some things you cannot do by yourself, to yourself, or for yourself.
For example,
you cannot make yourself laugh by tickling yourself,
you cannot tell yourself a good joke,
you cannot give yourself a surprise birthday gift,
you cannot hug yourself,
you cannot kiss your own lips.

And so, dear lover, this is why we love each other - not because we make each other happy - after all, happiness lies within - it is a moment-by-moment choice or decision.
No, dear lover, we love each other because,
what we give to each other, we cannot give ourselves.
