Ensemble Financial Initiates “Advisor Think Tank”
Ensemble Financial Services, a leading independent broker dealer and the leading outsourcing company for independent financial advisors, today announced the successful first meeting of its new Strategic Advisory Board, to identify issues in practice management for independent financial advisors.
Rochester, NY, March 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ensemble Financial Services, a leading independent broker dealer and the leading outsourcing company for independent financial advisors, today announced the successful first meeting of its new Strategic Advisory Board. The Board is comprised of financial advisors representing the different practice models in the advisory industry: national brokerage, bank subsidiary, and independent practice. “We assembled a group of highly successful advisors to help us identify what is working in this challenging environment, and where there were opportunities to be more effective in delivering advice to clients” reports Stephen Wershing, CFP, President of Ensemble. “Ensemble’s mission is making advisors more effective, successful and profitable. Organizing a ‘think tank’ about practice management is a great way for us to get feedback and ideas on how we can do that better.”
To advise on the construction of the board and to facilitate the meeting, Ensemble retained CAB HQ, the nation’s leader in conducting client advisory boards for financial professionals. The company has held hundreds of advisory boards in the last several years. “If we were going to engage advisors in a deep conversation about the challenges of running a practice in this environment, and generate value for us and for the participants, there was really no doubt we needed to have Bruce Peters and CAB HQ running it” said Wershing.
Members of the Board present at its initial meeting included:
James H. McBride, High Falls Advisors
Laurie Haelen, AM&M Financial Services
Nanette Nocon, Nocon & Associates, Amerprise
Michael Kaufman, KSH Group, Merrill Lynch
Thomas Ward, Ward Wyatt Associates, Ameriprise
Charles Pettit, OppenheimerFunds
About the content of the meeting, Wershing said “There were some great issues introduced. The first meeting of a group like this is always the hard one, but by the conclusion we were getting into some really valuable topic areas – some we anticipated, and some that surprised us. For example, we had a long discussion on how independent practices without a national institutional name behind them overcome the concerns among prospective clients that they might be dealing with another Bernie Madoff or Allen Stanford. We will have the transcripts done shortly, and it will be very interesting to consult with the Board members on which specific items we should pursue.”
