Learning to Sell in Tough Times Plenty of Opportunities for Small Business – if They Change Their Ways
This recession could just be the best thing to happen to Canadian small business owners, says one expert who has trained thousands of them.
Toronto, Canada, March 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- “The recession is forcing a lot of business owners to snuggle up to their best customers, get more creative with their marketing dollars and focus on what they do best,” explains Small Business Expert Andrew Patricio. “It is making small businesses stronger in this country.”
Patricio encourages small business owners to spend 70 percent of their time marketing and selling. “In tough times, a small business owner must really focus on their best customers, work to understand their changing needs and do everything possible to keep them happy,” he says.
Patricio also points out the incredible opportunities for growth to be found within this recession. “Many big companies are being squeezed financially so they’re outsourcing a lot of work. Nimble small business owners can pick up some nice new contracts, if they get out there and sell,” he explains.
Now running his tenth business, Patricio is Co-founder of BizLaunch.ca, a company that trains entrepreneurs how to start and run small businesses. Patricio’s firm has trained over 20,000 entrepreneurs worldwide.
In partnership with Cisco Systems Canada, BizLaunch will deliver a free one-hour webinar starting at 2 p.m. EST on April 8 exclusively for small business owners. Patricio will host the session called ‘Marketing and Selling in Tough Times.’
Delivered through the WebEx platform, webinar guests will enjoy an informative presentation featuring practical, ready-to-apply advice, video training with Patricio and real-time answers to their business questions. One guest will win a Cisco Security Router for their business.
Patricio remains optimistic about the fortunes of Canadian small business owners. “I truly believe a small business can thrive in this economy,” he says. “Providing they are willing to change how they sell and market their businesses, watch their costs and remain receptive to new revenue or expansion opportunities such as acquiring a supplier or competitor.”
