Food Allergy Conference & Expo

The AFAA Food Allergy Conference & Expo will be held April 4, 2009 at the University of Minnesota. National food allergy pioneer, Linda Coss, will be the keynote speaker. Other presenters include allergists, gastroenterologists, dietitians, and food allergy and celiac leaders. The expo will feature 30+ companies and organizations offering giveaways, door prizes, and items for sale.

St. Paul, MN, March 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- AFAA's 6th annual Food Allergy Conference & Expo will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2009 from 9-4 (registration 8:30 a.m.) at the University of Minnesota Radisson Hotel, 2nd floor; 605 Washington Avenue; Minneapolis, MN 55455.

The conference is open to parents, food allergic adults, clinical and school nurses, dietitians, pediatricians and general practitioners, foodservice employees, educators, and anyone else interested in learning more about food allergies.

The conference keynote speaker is one of the “pioneers” in the food allergy world, popular food allergy author Linda Marienhoff Coss. Ms. Coss, author of two food allergy cookbooks and “How To Manage Your Child’s Life-Threatening Food Allergies: Practical Tips For Everyday Life,” will deliver the keynote address on “What You Need to Know about Food Allergy Management.”

A presentation by AFAA's medical advisors will include "Hot Topics" such as whether desensitization may lead to a cure, and allergic reactions during airflight.

Pre-registration through March 31st is $35 per person and $50 per family (prices will increase thereafter $25 for each category). CEU credits for teachers, nurses, and dietitians are an additional $50. Pre-registration can be done on-line by credit card at www.foodallergyconference.org.
