We Play Green and MaxBat Swing for the Fences
Brooten, MN, April 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- We Play Green and baseball bat manufacturer MaxBat have partnered to create a green logo and label in honor and support of the environmental initiatives that We Play Green is implementing within professional sports. We Play Green founder and Cincinnati Reds outfielder, Chris Dickerson, will be using these specially designed bats during each game and hopes to inspire other We Play Green athletes to do the same.
MaxBat, one of North America's leading wooden bat manufacturers, will be producing these specially designed bats to help identify Dickerson as a We Play Green athlete."Our company is extremely proud to be associated with Chris Dickerson and the vision of WePlayGreen.org," said Jim Anderson, V.P. and Director of Sales for MaxBat, Inc. "Each time Chris is up to bat and the green MaxBat logo is visible, we feel the fans, players, and broadcasters will take notice of the unique logo color which will ultimately help raise environmental awareness among those groups. It's been our experience that the more unique something is, the more people will talk about it, and we're confident that this will be one of those instances.”
Dickerson is proud to be the first athlete swinging for the fences with the new We Play Green bat. “I’m grateful to MaxBat for providing our foundation with the opportunity to associate their name with our foundation during games. I’m honored to use the bats during the season in hopes that the green logo will generate publicity for our cause and will influence other We Play Green athletes to do the same.”
We Play Green, founded by professional baseball players, Chris Dickerson of the Cincinnati Reds and Jack Cassel of the Cleveland Indians, is an environmental organization focused on bringing professional athletes together to help inspire all communities into action. The foundation brings environmental awareness to sports by implementing recycling and conservation programs throughout youth, high school, college and professional sports programs. We Play Green salutes members of high school and collegiate athletic programs that are taking the initiative to "go green."
